    Yep, I missed the volute direction. I agree that Martin used a bit of arch as did other companies later which became more pronounced.

    I sent pictures to John Bernunzio who has seen tons of this...

    Good observation. Here is a picture from Hartman's Larson book of a Larson Mandola, or mandolin, that has the same volute.208374

    Thanks for taking a look. As to the neck shape. I am comparing it to 2 other Maurer's I own. The neck shape on Sn 4686 is almost identical. Sn. 3248 is a bit more "V'ed" and deeper that the other 2....

    Larson built Champion guitars

    Hoping to find any info. about early Larson built Champion or very early Maurer guitars. Anybody have one, seen one, know where one is? Something around 1900.
