The Drunken Sailor for four mandolins

So here's my arrangement of this tune for four mandolins, all played by me. Ideally, it would be a piccolo mando, a mandolin, a dola and an octave, or better yet, a bouzouki, but alas, I only have...

    Dr. John Cockman interview

I know he's not most known as a mandolinist, but he is a very interesting person and has done a lot for the music community not only in his area, but also internationally (and his overseas influence...

Re: Leather straps: flat or braided?

I'm not buying either, it is my intention to make one of each, and see which I like better, also, I think a nice leather strap makes a good present for any musician, so I might make more and...

    Re: Info on Boeh Mandolins?

I don't know, but that was a beautiful mandolin that got bought really quickly, and the new owner just posted about it in the video picture and sound file category

Congrats! I saw that one in the classifieds (if it's the same one) and knew it wouldn't last long. Sounds great!

    Re: Fishman m300 mandolin pickup

Hmm cool. There's a very noticeable difference between the mic and pickup, not so much between with or without EQ. The mic sounded best by far and away. One note, the tune you played was a little bit...

    Re: Jams near Beaumont TX

There's a sum total of absolute zero bluegrass happenings in Beaumont. I was there earlier this year, and I managed to find one banjo player in town, and one in Houston. I'll be back there from mid...
