I don't mean to be partial, but I would suggest Don Julin. Don is an incredible guy, and an absolute encyclopedia of knowledge. On top of this, Don is reasonably priced and flexible. He is amazing. :)

    Re: Northfield

Hey guys, I used a Model M on my last project and I couldn't be happier. It has plenty of volume, but also has a deep round sound that records so well. Mine has the Englemann top which, to my ear,...

    Re: I tone picks

I have been on a pick journey for 3 years now, and I may have finally arrived at my destination. I can get in and out of the strings with more ease using the I-tone because of it's thinner design,...

    Neck separation question

Good afternoon all! I am potentially looking at trading for a mandolin and wondered if a builder could give me their thoughts on repairing this F5. I am not doing the repair, but before I trade, I...

Re: Word of thanks- Andrew Buckner

    wxfloyd,
You know honestly I don't notice any difference in body size. The Model M is not the loudest mandolin I have owned, but the tone is by far my favorite. That's not to say the volume is poor,...

  22. Re: Coffee and a good book-a wonderful new solo mandolin MP3

    Freddy,
Another great option is the MXL 990/991 mic combo pack. You can probably get it for 100.00 or less, and it sounds great! I have a friend who owns a studio, and he uses the MXL 990 because...

  24. Re: Coffee and a good book-a wonderful new solo mandolin MP3

    Freddy,
Thanks for getting the EP! I have become such a fan of the minimalist mandolin sound, and loved getting to do this solo recording. To be honest, anyone can get the same sound quality that I...
