Re: wenge and spruce Celtic mandolin

I once owned a bass with a wenge neck (it was amazing) but hadn't thought of it as a tone wood. Sounds great!

I'm thinking of thinning the herd a little, mostly to raise a little extra cash to pay for the Eastman MDO305 I have on order and was wondering what a reasonable price to ask for a mint condition...

Re: Eastman md 305a or Kentucky km252 artist

    Re: Too old?

As long as you're this side of the sod you're never too old.......admittedly I find at 57 it takes a little more time for things to sink in but it's good for your brain (use it or lose it) and it's...

Re: Shipping out of the country

I shipped a bass to Italy a few years ago, other than filling out the customs declaration (and the cost) it wasn't really much different than shipping domestically. It was insured and could be...
  8. Re: Is the Loar LM-600 a decent beginner mandolin?

The LM-600 would make a very nice first mandolin (I owned and enjoyed one) but my suggestion would be - if possible - visit a shop with a variety of mandolins in stock and try a few out. Between your...

  13. Re: The Loar LM-400 Question - Amazon vs. Music Shops

I bought a LM600 from one of the on-line discount music stores and it came with the factory setup which was, to be charitable, mediocre. I bought my Eastman MD 504 from a bricks & mortar music store...

    Re: New paypal scam?

Or they have hacked someone else's PayPal account and you ship the item to an unconfirmed address which gives you zero seller protection.
