    If he installed the tailpiece and tuners and they are acceptable, I would suggest you pay him for that. However I would not pay for the bridge installation nor would I have him fix it. You can't fit...

    2. That is the worst "fit" of a bridge to a top I have ever seen.

    Due to the short scale length of a mandolin, getting clear notes past the 14th fret is going to be a problem. Nature of the beast.

    I had a friend many years ago that bought a Martin guitar with a bullet hole in the top near the lower bout, rather than have it repaired, he covered it with a band-aid.

    Looks good Jo! I have built two bell shaped mandolins based on a Lyon and Healy tiple, one arched and one flat. They worked out well, I still play the arched one.

    You will probably be fine with either placement. I understand that when Collings first started making mandolins they had the bracing pattern reversed on their A models and a bunch went out the door...
