    Re: Goldtone Long Scale Mando-Guitar

Has nothing to do with the Goldtone, I was following where the topic had veered off to the Vox/Phantom/Hammertone short scale 12-string

    Re: Robert Hunter RIP

It was those three. atsunrise's post is just a very confusingly formatted chord chart from a Rice, Rice, Hillman, Pedersen recording of FOTD.

    Image it more like this:

    Re: Eastwood Cosey electric

Pete Cosey played guitar with Miles Davis 1973-1975. One of his guitars was a Japanese one called a Morris Mando Mania, essentially an F5 shape blown up to guitar size. Eastwood has made a tribute to...

Re: Eastman El Rey Video Review

I'm not talking about adjusting the whole pickup up or down, just one end of it. Either moving the E-end up, or the G-end down. But it's not clear to me from internet photos whether those are...

Re: Eastman El Rey Video Review

Wouldn't that pickup angling just be an adjustment of the height screw on the pickup? Adjust the treble side up or the bass down. Or is that center chrome thing just a pin and not a screw like a...

    Re: Woodstock

Santana's debut album wasn't released until 2 weeks after Woodstock.

The Dead had headlined Fri/Sat at the Fillmore East just in June.

    Re: Woodstock

It went on sale in May and didn't sell out until a few weeks ago, so there was plenty of time. 1969 (get it) sets @ $800 a pop. They're going for $2500+ now on Ebay after the first few sold closer to...

Love PGF, glad to see they are playing again. I still regret not seeing them back in 2002 (I think it was) at the Culver City (Boulevard Music) Festival. Not like "one of my biggest regrets in life"...

I would think Levon might have played some mandolin during The Band's set, but I've never heard it.

Re: Omnidirectional Mic through bass amp

Go for it, no harm in trying. I agree with what the others have said, but like you said it's just a stop gap. Keep the amp pointed away from the mic though, to avoid feedback.

What Pete and John said. Particularly John's suggestion about trying one pedal at a time, trying to pinpoint.

    Re: Electromagnetic output from pickups

A good informative post, but your assumption right of the bat is incorrect. He told us what model the mandolin is (JBovier EMC-5) and it's clearly an electric mandolin with magnetic pickups:

No mandolin players listed on page 7. :(

Darol Anger is listed under violin and there's a single cello player, David Baker.

Re: Chord notation questions re + - and o

Slash o is half diminished AKA min7b5. root, b3, b5 and b7. Full diminished is root, b3, b5 and bb7 (double flat 7th)
