  1. Re: Shostakovich: Praeludium for two octave mandolins & tenor gui

That's really great. I just put my head back, closed my eyes, and enjoyed.

Re: High Quality Short Scale Tenor Guitar?

Indeed. 21.5 scale. I posted about mine here:

Re: Story of My Girouard Tenor

Yes...in the most technical sense. To the naked eye it has a flat top and back, although there is a very subtle 14' radius on top and 25' on back. Max could better explain the logic behind that.

Re: Story of My Girouard Tenor

Weird. The youtube clip embeds properly with Chrome, but not with Safari. Usually it's Chrome that does poorly on this site.

Re: Story of My Girouard Tenor

And before someone asks how it sounds, here's a short clip. My apologies as this beautiful instrument deserves to be demo'd by a Matt Witler-type ala TME.

Cedar top, mahogany back and sides,...

    Story of My Girouard Tenor

One night in summer 2017 as I laid in bed, I emailed Max with a proposition to build a tenor guitar. Through some repair and set-up work he'd done for me before, I had already developed a real...

Re: NK Forster tenor guitar - The Model T-HO

That looks great. Could you post a pic of the finished back? The build pics in your IG showed some nice figure. Enjoy that beauty.

Re: Campanella "Due" in the classifieds

Charles, I'd love to see it when completed. The Campanellas, particularly the Due, are my current infatuation. But until someone hands me a $6k gift card to music emporium, I'll just enjoy the...

Jordan - did you also record the audio with a phone? It sounded great. Mind if I ask the type of phone?

Finding Fiddle Tune Tabs Up the Neck

    Hello,

I'm sure this has been discussed plenty, but the search terms are too generic to find anything useful.

I've built up a repertoire of 40 or so fiddle tunes, and instead of adding more,...
  15. Re: What hard case best fits a smaller (Big Muddy) A-Style Mando

Sorry for the late reply - I was really struggling to add photos, but I think I found out that it's not possible to do so from the Chrome browser on an Android phone.

It's hard to tell, but if I...
  16. Re: What hard case best fits a smaller (Big Muddy) A-Style Mando

Hi Rob - I actually just bought a hard case for my MW-0 earlier this spring. I got the Superior CD-1521 Deluxe Hardshell A-Model Mandolin Case. It fits really snug and the padding seems pretty...

Re: Fiddle Tune that Incorporates Chords

Here is one example of what I'm talking about - but this may be out of my league. I'm looking for a intro tune to attempt this style.

    Fiddle Tune that Incorporates Chords

    Good evening folks,

I've been spending the past few years building up my repertoire of standard fiddle tunes, mostly melodies based on quarter and eight notes.

I'd like to learn a few tracks...

Re: tips for using the classifieds safely?

I agree I'd opt for paypal. As a seller, would it be customary for me to receive the paypal transmission prior to mailing the mandolin, or send it first and hope to receive the payment?
