According to my bathroom scale 3.2 lbs
It lighter than my Eastwood E Mandola & heavier than my Epiphone MM-30 mandolin.
It's has a solid feel to it.
Hope it’s not a bad Feeling® (end of pun)
In another post I was admiring the Goldtone Mando Guitar when I realized that the Chinese maker Feeling made the same thing for half the price. I really...
Telling an amp manufacturer how to create an amp is way over my head.
But I always look for warmth and cheap in an amp.
When I was a kid (in the 60's) I thought the musicians I admired were special people touched by the gods.
I would never be able to be that.
Now I know they just invested more time into it than me...
I compared the photos from Gold Tone's website and the ebay ads and they are identical photos (except head stock name).
This is of course not proof of anything.
But my guess is that neither...

I love mine.
I've been busking all summer (4 strings) and the feedback (from people) has been great.
Emando.com sells normal, light and extra light gauges.
Normal sounds the best but hurt my...

Thanks for the links, but I'm not following what this has to do with Gold Tone Mando-Guitar.
What are they playing? Looks like a great instrument.

Yeah that was pretty sweet.
Any on YouTube? I'd be interested in hearing.
Yeah but my fingers hurt just looking at it.
Thanks.
I'll keep that in mind.
The jury is still out for me, but the sound intrigues me. So maybe early January I'll give it a try.
Any one have any experience with these?
Search gives me no hits so I'm guessing not many do.

Same situation with my mom.
She gave me what little she had when she passed and I put it towards an instrument I named after her.
I love mine. The sound is extraordinary.
Consider getting the extension speaker. It makes a big difference.
Also: an EQ pedal really lets you shape the sound.
Mandolin never happened for me even after years of trying.
Mandola is just perfect in every way.
A non musician woman a few weeks ago asked me why my mandolin had a deeper voice.
It was nice to...

I've been busking with mine all summer and yeah the reaction has been enthusiastic to my tiny guitar.
I'm a big Eastwood fan.
I have a bass I bought years ago that is is still perfect to me.
I have their Airline Mandola and I'm really playing that one hard. I love it.
If I had money I'd fill up...
Their return policy is generous.
The one I had was well made, but I just couldn't bond with it.
I potted an electric bass pickup years ago.
It worked and was pretty easy to do.
As I recall you could speak into that pickup and record your voice! Now that's microphonic.
My Airline mandola...

The mandola version has been out for a while.
I tried one in January - well .... just because.
It had a very odd feel...
I'm using nylon guitar strings on a 20" scale bari uke tuned CGDA.
It's a perfect fit really, tension and tone wise. I've giged with it. The sound is unique.
I think it's a Bari-ukeadolatar.
My EDola has a very "woody" sound to it through a Blackstar amp and some eq.
It's really unique. Not like a guitar at all.
