    I have played the fender and have owned a few airline and eastwood instruments and tend to find decent but inexpensive pups and tuners . the neck angle may need to be changed a little , fret dressing...

    both models will benefit from some set up and adjustments by someone qualified . so go for the look or the better price . just be sure of a good return policy either way

    A electric mando with both piezo and magnetic pick ups would give you lots of tonal options .
    on a solid body you could use bridge saddles that have piezo in them plus what ever assortment of pups...

    Any possibility you are just learning to better hear the subtleties of your instrument with your ears . which allow you to key in the sweet spots during play adjusting position and technique to that...
