    Re: Monel users.....

The Monels are smaller-gauge on the A-string then my previous set, which were D’Addario Nickel Bronze Medium Heavy. This may be what I’m hearing. Checking each string individually it does seem to be...

    Re: Monel users.....

I have a 2004 F9 and the Monels give me a sweetness on the A & E strings that I haven't been able to get with anything else. This have come at the expense of volume, but it is worth it to me.

    Re: Gibson Pearloid tuner pegs

I noticed the smaller-size buttons on an EBay ad for some A-style Grover’s. Took a chance for $50 and got lucky! They fit perfectly on my ‘04 F-9.

    Re: 2004 F9 tuner buttons?

Correct. A single button, which I can probably learn to live with for now. Looks like the only tuners that will fit on the headstock without hanging over the edge are the Waverley. Grovers have big...

Thanks for the education, gentlemen; and for making my first experience with posting on the forum a good one. I will explore my options with the tuners.

    Re: 2004 F9 tuner buttons?

Thanks for all the info. One last question: If I can find some Grover 308 tuners, will the buttons on it work?

    Re: 2004 F9 tuner buttons?

That was going to be my next question, thanks! Talked with Frank Ford at Gryphon today and he recommended new tuners as well. If it would require drilling new holes, I don't think I'm up for that.

    Re: 2004 F9 tuner buttons?

It has flat-head screws. The buttons look like Grover but smaller. Still trying to put a picture up

    Hi all!
I have a 2004 Gibson F9 with a missing pearloid tuner button. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?
