    Re: 2019 Tune-A-Week Project

Very nice again and it sounds like a fun tune as well. Which brings me to another question or two.

We all have our favorite songs but do you find any of these so far more fun to play than the...

    Re: Noisy finish ???

Wasn't actually anyone I knew I just saw someone do it. I recognized the glove from my BioMed days. I did know a guy who used to use cornstarch and or talk on his hand and instrument neck. I don't...

    Re: Noisy finish ???

I remember a guy who would wear a latex glove liner with the fingers cut off. It was a very thin lightweight white cotton glove meant to be worn under latex gloves and wick some of the moisture away.

    Re: Volume boost pedal question

You have a K&K why not use the pre amp made for it by K&K. You may find it is all you need.i

Re: Man I need a good tuner...

I must admit on my OldWave A the E strings take a bit more pluck to register properly but they do work. I just adjusted my picking a bit. On my 000-18 GE I use my nail. But so far other than that the...

Re: Who makes their own truss rods?

What size rod are you using? Is it welding rod? I was thinking the ability to use a smaller rod and have a smaller slot would be good.

    Thanks ! Everyone!

Re: Man I need a good tuner...

Strobo clip HD does not have a metronome. I would also suggest using a strobo first to see if you like it. I talked another into buying one but he promptly returned it because he didn’t like how it...

    Re: Question about glue

HHG isn't that bad to work with, try using a solution 10 times thicker then it should be, that's what I did the first time I used it. I followed the directions but the good folks here mentioned my...

Re: Do people ever change their strings?

I was thinking about how people change their strings, I see a lot do it in pairs. Now and then I pull them all and use a pice of blue painters tape to hold the bridge in place that way I can clean it...
  16. Re: Post A picture of your favorite "A" model

I have only played one and it is the one I own so I would have to say it is my favorite.

Re: Who makes their own truss rods?

So dredging this back up for a few more questions. Hope you all don't mind.
Since the titanium is stronger Marty was giving thoughts to a 1/8' titanium rod. I don't know if anyone has ever tried it...

    Re: Necks

Well, I see it like this. Either works and any glue joint will fail with improper care and non-long grain will break easier than long grain orientation so the question is, is having long grain worth...

Re: Cleaning Mold From Inside a Guitar?

Have you seen the steri pens using UV light to purify water? I wonder if something like that would work. There are mold eating enzymes that might work like used in homes to remove black mold but I do...

Funny thing is I just looked at the leaves of a 150 or older oak table that was stored in my grandmother's very humid basement for almost as long. I have glue joints opening up along a lot of the...

    Re: Truss rod soda straw?

I wonder if because anrod was glued in the neck you wouldn’t get compression the full length of the neck. You would only have compression over the area from the nut to where ever the rod was secured,...

    Re: Necks

Yes these were my thoughts as well. The long grain of the headstock would be glued to the end grain of the neck. In years of sod working and cabinet making classes we were always taught a good glue...
