  3. Re: Who was the first American mandolin manufacturer?

I found THE Mr. Seville. Once I've reconciled some of the 'conflicting' posts and suggested timelines, I will reveal him in all his amazing splendor. Indeed! Bohmann attracted the extraordinary. As...

    Re: A. Alberto - Kleine Mandolinen-Schule

It seems that it's easy to conflate names and especially Anton (né Antonio?) Alberto and Heinrich Albert (Enrico Alberti) (both guitarists). Until we can get bio facts for Alberto, we should be wary.

    Re: A. Alberto - Kleine Mandolinen-Schule

Italian online libraries offer the alternative "Enrico Alberti" and that may be how many Italian musicians remember him.

    Re: Mandolin classical literature

Not to contradict but rather to clarify and add to the discussion.

  13. Re: Who was the first American mandolin manufacturer?

Bohmann did apply for patents and received a few. I don't have the count exactly--certainly not as many as Lyon & Healy but
Bohmann was no fool. I suggest further study and search of the on-line...

  21. Re: Drop Box is now available for Italian 'ballo liscio' sheet mu

For compare and contrast purposes, it is always great fun to evaluate the various arrangements. Pignoloni was a multi-instrumentalist and I think that guitarists who question the so-called simplistic...
