Yeah, I was fooling around about it being expensive. I’ve got a local guy that treats me good!
I bought a bunch of this 8/4 while I was there.

Thanx guys! It’s on hold for me. Most boards are 15/16”x12” wide. Think it would look ok as one pc backs? It’s rather expensive at $4/bdft...
I was at a saw mill local to me buying some curly maple, when the guy drags this maple out and says, “Betcha ain’t never seen maple like this before”. Any idea? Looks like chip carving or fish...
Just remember folks, painters don't cause runs. It's a physics problem. Run: The inability for a viscous medium to adhere to a vertical surface.
I appreciate it!
I restored this old Kay for a dear friend of mine. His dad played it back in the 60-70s. At some point the neck block was broken. A band mate “repaired” the neck by filling it full of glue and...
X3 on the Harbor Freight. If you were painting pearls/micas on a car, I might opt for a Sata or equivalent. I will say that my favorite spraying gun on the planet is the Sata Jet 90. It’s not HVLP...
Hey Joe, I hope you see this thread. I’m also curious as I ended up with an f style mandolin built by him. As an inspiring luthier l, I removed the peghead veneer(had the person he made it for’s name...
Thanx Marty! I really wanted a 12” jointer, but don’t really have the extra room. I went ahead with the purchase($350 used with sandpaper ). I was wondering if I might pick your brain sometime about...

Any interest in selling those billets?
I'd like to thank all you guys for your support on this site and elsewhere. I was by your shop some time ago James and I'd love to come back. I'd like to watch you, John, or the Dude do some...
So you like a 3/4" blade with 1.3tpi John?
Close! lol
On my watch list. The bi metal option seems like a great deal, but can it be silver soldered? I also have a do all blade welder on the machine, but it's currently not working. Suggestions?

Thank you. Part of restoring this saw is getting a vfd. The guy I bought it from had 3 phase power. The motor is 3ph 3hp.
Thanx John! Looking forward to more. Any reason the meat blade wouldn't work? Really narrow kerf would be nice. John, any chance I could pay a visit one day and pay you to resaw some one piece Sitka...
Sorry using my phone, don't know how to rotate image.
My wonderful wife allowed me to find my own Christmas present. I found a Frank and Co 26" band saw and am in the process of getting it up and going. I'm dedicating it to resawing and am looking for...
That's the idea. Remove most of the wood with a forstner bit, then double side tape down my template and run my pattern bit around it. Makita, Bosch or dewalt?
I'm looking for a compact router to rout control cavities in a tele body. I have a couple routers, a Bosch in a homemade table for binding channels and a craftsman professional in its own table for...
