Re: How Do I Maximize An Octave Mandolin?

I’ve been playing the octave for about a year now and have deliberately tried to play just melody -and metronome melody at that. I know where the double stops are but I wanted to be firmly on the...

  6. Re: A couple of position questions - trying to unlock the fretboa

I found that the road map pattern system of FFcP for beginners is great. It’s a bit like looking down on a city at night and seeing all the relative distances, positions, and directions.

    Great,...

Thanks for the notation, reminds me I’ve been enjoying writing things out by hand recently.

Re: Learn to play multiple instruments at once?

Play two instruments at the same time? Why limit yourself to two?

  11. Re: MIDI playback not working on Mandolintab.net ABC converter?

Looks like the site is down, real shame..

You can cut and paste the.abc text into mandolintab.net to get the tab (while you’re learning the notation of course) when the site hopefully comes back online (they need $). Or a slightly more...

    Re: Irish Metronome

What about a metronome with style settings, like:
    1. Co. Clare Session Reel,
    2. Chris Thile Classical March,
    3. Fibish Slip jig,
    4. Molsky Double jig?
  18. Poll: Re: Poll for the Song a Week Social Group Week #521

He’s done a couple of vids where he plays both the melody and then the harmony too. Sounds really cool if you can get someone to play the second harmony part at the same time as you play melody.
