Re: SNARK ST-2 Super Tight Clip On Tuner

I have been using Snark tuners for years and have found no particular accuracy problems. I purchased a Peterson Strobe tuner about five years ago and rarely use it. In my opinion the Peterson and...

    Re: Which Snark?

I have two Snarks -- a red and a black. They both work just fine. I've had no problems with either after at least four years. I also have an older Intelli that that is accurate. I'll add that I also...

Re: I've got the octave mandolin blues :(

I've played this Irish bouzouki at Blue Dog Guitars in North Vancouver. It sounds real good. It's made by local luthier David Webber. Might be a little above your price range, but you haven't stated...

Went to see Chris and Edgar last night. The Chan Centre at the University of British Columbia is a wonderful venue for such a performance. My wife and I had third row centre seats, which enabled us...

    Re: Shipping to canada

Delays seem to be a roll of the dice. I've had many items shipped from the U.S. that arrived within a few days, while some get held up at Canada Customs for weeks. The Customs delays seem random.
  14. Re: So I bought a Peterson Clip on Tuner-total disappointment.

I bought a Peterson Strobo Clip. I can't say that I'm in love with it. It's too finicky for my liking. I usually just reach for my Snark, which is a lot handier, as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Jazzing up 12 bar blues progression

It's all about chord substitutions. A common "jazzy" way of playing a 12 bar blues is to take a simple G7 - C7 - D7 (1-4-5) progression, and substitute this way, for example: G7-E7- Am7-D7-G7...

    Re: USB interface recommendations

Jason, a few years ago I picked up a set of Sennheiser HD 477 phones. I got them at Future Shop for around $100. They are excellent phones for not a lot of money. The 477's don't seem to be around...

    Re: Black, Sawchyn, Old Wave

You're not likely to get a clunker from any of these builders. Butch Baldassari owned and played a Sawchyn oval hole.

I use Pearse strings and like them a lot. They do seem to be susceptible to early death, depending on one's body chemistry. I'm fortunate in that I don't seem to have string-killing sweat. I have...

  25. Re: "Tell Me Baby, Why You Been Gone So Long?" Tab?

Just to add to the confusion: Yes, the tune is in E, but Tony is capoed at the 2nd fret, playing out of the D position, while Wyatt is capoed at the 4th fret playing out of the C position.
