    Re: NS Micro Tuner

I like them and use them on mandos, guitars and resonators. They aren't great in sunlight. I did get a polytune for my main mandolin, as it seems better during outdoor, sunny gigs.
  2. Re: Guitar question: short-scale string tension

Many 12 fret guitars have standard, or "long" scale lengths. My Martin 000-28 GE, same as a dred. Nor are all small bodies with short scale. I have a 2-17 with standard scale. I do have a short scale...

Re: Lack of Eastman oval holes

I've been looking for one recently and have found the same problem! Many list them, but none have them in stock. I ended up buying a 604 that was posted in the classifieds (I'm anxiously awaiting...

    Re: Replacement Pickup for GME-4

So the pickup arrived today and I put it in...What a difference! It's a true single coil, unlike the stacked "humbucker" that's the stock pickup on the Gold Tone. The almuse is louder, much more...

    Replacement Pickup for GME-4

So I bought a Gold Tone GME-4 electric mandolin a while ago off of craigslist. It's fun to fool around with, but the stock pick-up is quite weak, especially the E string. It was especially hard to...

Re: F Style Hard Case for Eastman 315/515

My Eastman 515 rests quite comfortly in a Superior fiberglass case. It even fit, albeit snugly, with a tone-guard. It's a fine case

    Re: Fiberglass Cases

I have a Bobelock Arrow and think it's great. I don't need too much storage, a little box of picks, capo & a tuner, all of which fits in the (small) storage space. I leave a pack of strings and a...

    Re: Fiberglass mando cases

I have a Summit f-200 and tried a tone guard. It was a very tight squeeze in a GG case, so tight I chose not to use that case when the TG was on. It fit without issue in my origianl TKL wooden case.

    Re: Another Eastman Case problem

Same problem on the case for my 515. I used a piece of leather slipped through the hole where the tab had gone. Nonetheless, I have looked into ( and purchased!) other case options...
