  1. Re: Y'all missed some great mandolin playing in Asheville

Frank Solivan (left - leads Dirty Kitchen) and Don Stiernberg (right - leads the Don Stiernberg Group) as an incredible duo. They burned up the frets! A great mix of traditional, Bluegrass (sans...

    Re: Damage to Loar A5???

That spot has been there since I've known the mandolin(1966). I believe it came from the case. The A5 does not fit exactly right in an F5 case (which it came with) and rubs right there. ...

Re: Picked up a fiddle recently..

I started three years ago, and well over the age of 40. I play as good, if not better than the folks that I have met at fiddle gatherings who have been playing several decades. So, it's not about...

Re: Kerman Mandolin status as of 2019

Most classical mandolinists from Israel play Kerman mandolins, so if you listen to or watch Avi Avital or Jacob Reuven recording or videos, those are Kerman mandolins.

It is the mandolin played by Avi Avital. Nope, that website is it. Google Avi.

I don't think reducing tension is required. I do reduce tension slightly for shipping but that mostly to prevent any damage if the box gets abused. Tension may "help" to break the headstock or cause...

    Possibilities:

    1. Wear from something in the case.
    2. Tut [or somebody else] wanted to find out what the finish was and scraped some off. The perpetrator might have been under the influence...

I think that’s from having a strap looped underneath the fingerboard extension.
What else are you gonna do? That little guy doesn’t have a proper strap hanger.

You need to cruise the classifieds as entertainment.

I too disregard any add without a price and any add without a picture.

And any guitar add in the mandolin section.

The advertiser generally lists the price in the ad. If an advertiser does not quote a price, I and perhaps many others disregard the ad. This is, to me, annoying. Perhaps not as annoying to me as...

The answer to the OP’s question is a simple “no”, with all due respect.
