    Re: Crossrock Mandolin Cases

Hi folks, although this thread is not very old I am wondering if anyone has ordered one recently and if so, what you received. There appears to be many iterations of this case floating around- 3...
  2. Re: Considering a trade - is it me or the mandolin?

I had an Eastman 915 with a sort of vee neck and 1 5/32 nut, radius fretboard and old hands. For me the answer was 1 3/16" nut, "c" shaped neck and FLAT fretboard. Trial and error.

    Re: Mandolin Case Storage Solution

Question/comment- It appears as though the stand needs to be a bit away from the wall in order for a guitar case to sit properly. So if it is sitting along a wall how many inches is it to the most...

Needed to ship something I sold from western NY to California a short time ago. Took it to USPS, UPS and Fedex. The difference in price was way crazier than I expected. Fedex was lowest by quite a...

    Weymann model 30 banjo mandolin

I was wondering if someone could help. The neck angle needs adjusting and I am wondering if the metal gizmo on the back is used for this purpose. The end of the fingerboard is just about touching the...
  8. Re: "banjo-mandolin" and "nice sounding": an oxymoron?

Correction to my statement above, mine is a model 30 not 40 but question is the same.
  9. Re: "banjo-mandolin" and "nice sounding": an oxymoron?

Not to hijack the thread but I have a Weymann model 40 in original case and removable/snap on resonator. Tone is a bit harsh but will try the banjo strings. Could possibly have original strings, sure...
  10. Re: Who makes a symetrical F case for my two-point?

Mitch, my gibson measures 27.5 from point of headstock to end of strap pin. There is a little room left.
I bought mine from amazon so I could return it free, no questions asked if I did not like...
  11. Re: Who makes a symetrical F case for my two-point?

The Guardian CG-035-MA fits my Gibson two point Jethro Burns model very nicely. Nicely constructed and under $100.

    Re: D string intonation

It could just be a bad string. I would change strings before doing anything else.

    Re: Looking for Sheet Music

Hmmm, not sure what you mean by undiscovered. When I am looking for something different or have something different bouncing in my brain, I write it.

Re: Frustrated with new Loar 310F

Years ago I had a "The Loar" and took it in for a truss rod adjustment. The luthier used one of those ball end allen wrenches like Pops1 mentioned, likely metric. No issues in adjusting with it at...

Big stab in the dark but did you try the Library of Congress? If they do not have it they may have ideas of where to try.

    Tracking mandolin history

I hear from time to time people saying they tracked the history on their mandolin - built ?, Shipped?, To where? Sold to?.
How would I begin to find out that information on my 50's Gibson. Thanks
