    Thanks Martin, if it is a late 20's A-O, would the tailpiece be original?
    I thought it was funny that she valued an A-4 a few years earlier for far less then this one.

    I built this flat topped Lyon and Healy style mandolin a few years ago. Totally out of the mainstream. Back and sides are Australian Blackwood.

    I use an electronic tuner to tune it the best I can knowing if another mandolin player asks to play it they will retune it. ;)

    I put classical guitar strings on my wife's baritone uke. I used the A,D,G and B strings and tuned it to DGBE. It worked great and sounds fine.

    A more intimate version with his brother on drums. I used to see John and his brother play in a bar in Cape May NJ back in the 80's with the Chris Suey Jazz Band. He blew my socks off.
