Did you see the KM-1500 that just hit the classifieds yesterday? That’s a great price!
I've always used J76's, they seem to work with well on these mandola's and the scale.
I had the KH-1300 in the classifieds last spring but no nibbles. A couple of years ago one sold with in a couple...
Congratulations on your KH-600. Yes, the instruments from the Maruko plant are well built and sound great. I have both a KH-1300 and a KH-Dawg. The both sound fantastic and have a similar sound....
That's the lead in for Lost Ball In The High Weeds.
How is the vinegar applied?
Thanks
Herb H,
Thanks for your expert advise on the mold.
First, I tried leaving the case open to direct sunlight for several days. This may have helped but the smell was still there.

Last spring I purchased mid-80's Kentucky (Dawg)mandolin from a guy in Hawaii. Both the instrument and case are fine except for the mold smell emitting from the case and the mandolin.
How do I...
oops, the KH-1300 has a 16" scale.
The Dawgola (KH-Dawg) is a 16" scale while the Dawg is a 14" scale.
I also have a Kentucky KH-1300 (copy of a Gibson H5), it's 6" scale too.

From what I can figure, 84 6 13 means 1984, June, 13th mandolin that month.
Dawg is David Grisman's nick name. He was involved with the design of the "Dawg" mandolins, mandolas, and mandocellos...
Yes, I agree with all that was said previously.
For about the past 3 or 4 years, I've been putting together a list of serial number of Kentucky mandolins from the Muruko plant during the 80's. So...
The belief system of those who are mandocentric.
A fine looking web site Paul.
Thanks for building great mandolins.
Cheers!
I'll see her tonight at the Wildwood Springs Lodge.
Does anyone know anything about the transition in the body shape of the Gibson A5L. It appears that the earlier ones from the 90's have a more narrow shoulder (Like the Loar A5) while the more recent...
