They are now called Fisoma but, many still call them Lenzner. bigcitystrings has them on their website but, I've never ordered from them.
I knew that if I searched enough I'd find the Embergher dimensions. Here is an old post by Ralf. Translated to inches, the Mandoliola used a 16 in scale.

If this is the one you mentioned in the BBoN thread that is 17 1/8 in. scale, I would say most likely Octave tuning. I'm getting the feeling that somewhere around 17 in. is the transition point. If...
This page on Alex's site has a pic of a Mandolin and Mandoliola side by side.

I would say the scale would be between 16 and 17 in.
This happened in the 1890s. Embergher worked with the mandolinist G. B. Maldura to develop the Classical Quartet.
2 Mandolins
1 Mandoliola
1 Mandoloncello
Up until that time quartets were

I think there was a lot of variation for equally varied reasons.
Both Alex and Ralf Leenan would know the scale of the Mandoliola. This thread reminded me that I never got Ralf's book. I sent him...
Embergher really started the CGDA tuned Mandola (Mandoliola) thing. His goal was to create a mando quartet that used instruments tuned identically to the string quartet. This opened up all that music...
Bowlbacks are different animals than archtops. They use much lighter strings than bluegrass instruments. They also use a shorter scale. In Bowlback speak, an unqualified Mandola means the Octave...
This is cool. Got mine up.
Herwiga Solist Liuto Cantabile (5 course Mandocello).
Have you considered a sequencer? You get a nice graphic interface, expandability with VST effects. It's easy to create WAV files for burning to CD. USB audio interfaces are pretty cheap as are basic...
An amp specified for 4-Ohms can take larger loads i.e. > 4-Ohms. It is just less efficient. You will get more total power out of a lower resistance load. What you can’t do is go lower (< 4-Ohm)...
Lenzner Consort. They can be tough to find but Big City Strings has them listed on their site.

Sean,
The Thomastik's are for European *octave* Mandola which have a shorter scale (17-20") than the typical American Octave Mandolin.
Thanks Yvonne! I'm in Florida. I'll PM you my e-mail so we can correspond that way after you find them.
Yvonne,
Would you be willing to give me a deal on those on those E strings?
David,
Just Strings is confused. I don't know why they think Octave Mandola is a Mandocello in Europe. Mandocellos are the same in US and Europe. But, the 1804 set are the strings for Mandocello....
as with a great many, early music polemics, i thought we were steering towards a definitive interpretation ... and we wouldn't want that - no-no.[/QUOTE]
Yes, you are quite correct Bill. My post was...
All the more reason to be discussing interpretation.
I haven't heard your recording, but in my opinion, the way you have it notated, the beats don't match the music.
Divisibility is not always the best way to determine meter. Odd bars can and do...
By adding a few 2/4 bars where a theme ends another starts, the 3/4 is maintained. The ending note of each theme could easily be doubled which would maintain the 3/4 throughout the piece. Indeed, in...
Allan Alexander's book also has it in 3/4. Looking at it, I think it fits better in 3/4. Thinking back, I think I actually played it in 3 even though Roger had it in 4. In 3 (w/ pickup), all the...
Bowlbacks typically have narrower necks. Did you get the dimensions on this from the seller?
