    Re: Jesse McReynolds at 90

He's 90? Well then, the wife and I saw him play on the Ryman stage at 87 years old in July of 2016. Wondered how old he was. He sounded very good for being 87 years young that night. He was with Del...
  5. Re: Gibson model F-9 mandolin master model reverb

I paid $1750.00 2 years ago for mine on Reverb. A 2002 model with a little pinky wear on the finish. I guess they've gone up in price.

Re: 8/5-8/9 - Ashokan Bluegrass Camp

Went here last year. Was the last weekend in October but in spite of the weather it was nice. This looks like about a five day camp and a much better time of year for it. Got to look into this.

The only other thing I even try and play besides the mandolin is the radio. No, I'll bring some Blues Harps.

    Re: Mid-range Case Recommendations

I had a spare Travelite laying around that I was trying to sell. Actually glad now it didn't sell. I got a mandolin in a cash/trade. It came in one of the cheapest cases I've ever seen. I ended up...

    Re: Sam Bush hospitalized!!!

Brings to mind a bout I had with Diverticulitis. In my case I was only hospitalized overnight. However the pain and discomfort beforehand was mighty acute.

    Re: Standing position

Yes, I noted the same thing when I saw Del and Dawg about three years ago. David does hold his mandolin up quite high on his upper chest. He didn't hold it that high years ago from some other videos...

Re: Wow. What won't they try next?

That's what scared me off. If it's that rare, who knows where you could even buy strings?

Which beats trying to sell four at $2500.00 a pop.

Wow. What won't they try next?

I'll admit. I am no expert. However I think there are too many zeros in the asking price.
