    Re: Jamie Wiens Mandolins

Not sure I asked the consigner if it sold-he don't think so so maybe he was able to pull it? Don't know till he gets back with me as I'm promised it for some goods I have? We'll see?

I didn't get it? Not that I know of anyway unless the consigner picked it up but I don't think so?

I've bought some of his picks! Mighty fine stuff and one only gets that tone with the "real thing!" His prices are very good for what you get also!

    Re: Silk and Steel Strings?

I've used them on my old and new F-5's, it warms the sound up, I prefer D'Addario strings for their brightness! I'm in love with the EJM74's-the Monel throwback strings-they be awesome! Or you can't...

Re: what is the best selling mandolin.

I'd have to say the very nice cheaper imports like Eastman, Kentucky, Rogue, etc...Some models are a great bang for the buck with a good set-up and better hardware!
  13. Re: Alex Heflin on the Eastman ER-M mandolin

That Eastman sounds great, I didn't know they made E-mandolins? I've thought about adding one to the stable? A friend has an E-mando by a maker called Mann-I think anyway, its pretty snazzy!
  14. Re: people who have Gibson jam master mandolins.

Thanks, I thought they were the same models-well they are pretty close, but different specs-sounds great for a no frills F or A-5!
  15. Re: people who have Gibson jam master mandolins.

Are the "Jam Masters" the 9 series of Gibson's like the A model-A-9, or the F model-F-9?

  21. Re: Micing my Farmers Market/Retirement Home Bluegrass band

Re: Replacing Tuners on 1930's Mandos

For modern tuners you'll have to drill out as the new posts are wider than the ones you currently have and I'd recommend that on the top you drill down for the thickness and depth of the peg head...
