    Re: For John Prine

When I get to heaven, I'm gonna shake God's hand
Thank him for more blessings than one man can stand
Then I'm gonna get a guitar and start a rock-n-roll band

    Re: Delfest Postponed

I do not give any company (except Netflix) access to automatically access my credit card.
There are just too many things (like this) that can happen to justify it for me.
    I don't find it puzzling...

Jerry Rosa's '24 Loar (Specs Source)

I really enjoy Jerry Rosa's "Rosa String Works" on YouTube.

Jerry uses a specific set of mandolin grads that he gathered when working on a '24 Loar.
Jerry doesn't share those grads (and I am not...

    Tim's old Nugget used to have a big white spot where his finger had worn away the finish;
Looks like he's had it touched up

    Re: Tuners for an F-9

I removed those black nylon round ended washers from a set of (non-Gibson) Grovers once and the tuners worked better after, so they are definitely not needed.

    Re: 7th fret problem

That is three distinct things; I know your question is about it being out of tune, but also not every note on a given instrument is going to necessarily be as strong (or weak) as another one. Since...

Re: Nut Slots Cut Too Low

A quick and dirty fix is to loosen off the string just enough to get a narrow shard of paper underneath the string. You might have to make a few attempts and position the shim to start a little...

Re: Improve playability on budget mandolin

Get a guitar capo and put it on the first or second fret. This could make it more or less playable. If it improves anything, then there could be hope that the nut or bridge could be adjusted lower.

    Re: StewMac kit

There is plenty left over from the rest of the cut offs to make a small joint to cover the widest part of the peghead; it's what I did when I made mine. Forgoing the back binding is also an option.
