She's here in Brevard at Mountain Song early Sept.
Was about to mention Mike both with SCR and his Italian playing with bandmate Barrett Smith. Also I'd have to include Dominick Leslie and Shawn Lane.
Bring that thing to Brevard and let's hear it !!!
I never missed one of their shows, they spoke to me on so many levels. The Summer shows hosted by Glen Campbell were incredible as well. John Hartford was a regular and Mason Williams made up songs...

Just want to make all Cafe members aware of Forrest O'Connor's fund raiser for wife Kate's recent medical bills. Their goal has been met but is still quite a bit short of covering what's owed....
Could not have wound up in better hands
My wife and I were in Dingle a couple weeks ago and stumbled across a poster for a concert @ St. James church that very night. Only 100 tickets were available and we were lucky enough to score 2....
Eli Wildman played a Lorton for a bit and it sounded amazing. Not sure Mr. Lorton is still with us but if he is , he will be 103 this Wednesday!

I agree with Mick, looks like the back has been off. The problem this poses, what kind of glue was used to put it back on? I bought a 2 point Strad some years ago with the same issue and took the...
Similar to the Mr. Sun version with Joe K. playing one of the most beautiful mandolin solos I've ever heard.
Wonderfully played and a spot-on description of Forrest. Thanks
Mike Guggino plays a Kimble 2 point on a lot of the Steep Canyon Rangers' latest album, Arm in Arm
Steep Canyon Rangers have a good one. Mike Guggino played and talked about all his different mandolins and mandola a few weeks ago.
I agree with rcc56, I think '30s. I have a '40 similar to yours but has round holes where yours has the "commas". That's a really nice one, bet it sounds as good as it looks
Not too surprised, this has to be the friendliest, most thoughtful forum in existence. Many thanks to Scott and all the mandonerds that make it so.
James Condino in Asheville does fine work.
I never met Phil but always enjoyed his posts here. He will be missed by many for many reasons. R I P Phil
Is the seller from Chernobyl ?
That's a good looking Stradolin, definitely solid top. Fretboard looks great, did you polish the frets ? It should sound great once you string it up. Congrats !!
Looks like the original, adjustable bridge that has indeed been glued together which would explain the low action. Nice looking mandolin, right Eric the matching pickguard and tailpiece cover are a...
Fantastic, thanks Mark.
