Hmmm. You always do an thorough job covering the vendor displays and some of the interesting folks walking around. I want more food photos.

    Re: Hello from Delaware

Welcome. I wouldn't call that a common issue with Ibenez mandolins (at least it hasn't made the boards here often). Good luck with the lessons and have fun!

  9. Re: Need help valuing a Gibson, two Adams and a Morgan Monroe

I'm with Mike on that older Morgan Monroe. That's not one of their higher end models. I would say $250-400 for it, depending on condition.

    Re: Morgan Monroe Question

TL;DR: I'm pretty sure MM mandolins are made mostly in larger facilities mostly by machine.

    Re: upgrade thoughts

Thanks. There are good shops in CA as well and the weather is now nicer for some shop visits. ;) I stand by my suggestion of hands on before buying if you're becoming particular.

To me, it sounds like you're pretty particular in what your ears like and dislike. If you feel you can adequately describe that to another person in a shop over the phone (and they have a good...

Re: Some help to value a couple of mandolins

I am not familiar with those specific instruments but they look like Asian made brands that aren't too recent. Maybe get up to $200 for the A style and maybe $300 for the F style. They may be worth...

    Re: Oval vs F

The length of the neck is pretty standard. Older Gibson styled oval holes have a neck body joint around the 12th fret while Gibson styled F hole models join around 15th fret. This shifts the bridge...
