    Re: Hollow Body Electric Tenors

I sent the YouTube link to my luthier who’s working on my ETG150 at the moment. He said he’s got a mate who’s got a blonde ES125. Now that, I would like to see as a tenor.... *drool*

    Re: Hollow Body Electric Tenors

I’d get that natural TG50 in a heartbeat! Not many of them about. Maybe get Earnest Instruments to make you up a new scratch plate so as to mount the pickup on it as per his spec.
    You Americans get...

    Re: Hollow Body Electric Tenors

Hey buddy, sent you a reply PM.
For me that 70s one isnít the golden age. I was set on a 50s one - nicely mid-period - If thereíd been a 30ís/40ís (?) Charlie Christian equipped ETG for the money...

Re: How much will it sell for?

Ah that's nasty :( so sorry to hear that

My online mate Matt did have one of these exact versions (but he thought it was a TG50) & it went for 3k. I couldn't do it at the time. If you youtube his...

  11. Re: Somebody knows about NK Forste's" Session King Tenor guitar?

He’s a respected luthier, and he makes excellent tenor guitars. You can make up your own mind from the videos what you think of them. I don’t really understand why you are desperate for us to confirm...
  12. Re: What is Today the best Tenor guitar between 500$ => under 100

finding a good reasonably priced resonator outside the US/Canada is extremely heard. there's a 1930 triolian for sale in London for £2000.... that's pretty much normal... they rarely appear though....
  13. Re: What is Today the best Tenor guitar between 500$ => under 100

Good point. We all have to be careful not to equate loudness with quality. Unfortunately i do see that a lot in the four string/four course world - probably not helped by some builders pushing the...

    Re: Suddenly feeling old

In my band, I’m the oldest by 5 years. Our ages go down to early 20s. I’m 50. Does it matter? Does it heck. I’m the frontman anyways, and I’m a beautiful man :cow: so it’s all good ha ha.

    Re: Tone-gard & tonyp

My pals laughed about the “cage” when i first got it. Oddly, on my A5 it doesn’t add a lot, but the F5 it’s night & day - so i showed them the difference and they were off down to the local takeout...
  17. Re: New and recent Tenor, best than vintage Martin's and Gibson ?

i can tell you that my '59 Martin o-18t is huge sound wise. I have a high end modern tenor (Mcilroy) which is lovely, but the martin has age and played-in-ness.

the O-18t has so much mojo - hard...
  18. Re: What Happened to Brian's Huge Chord List?

what do you mean by "complex" voicings? Various 9ths, 11ths, various lesser used 7ths that kind of thing? I have my guitar toolkit app for a lot of that.

Re: Are tenor guitars slightly evil?

The other question is where next... as alluded to, I’ve always wanted a TG50 or ETG150 (the latter would kill stagewise), but also a National / Dobro (the latter I NEVER see in the UK!)

Re: Are tenor guitars slightly evil?

    don't think mine's that exciting.

I do first recall seeing tenors at hobgoblin & thinking "what's the point in that sort of thing". I was knee deep in my mandolin...

    Re: Amazing Mandola Alert

    Nice story & happy ending!
    congrats Chris :)

I am still haunted by a mandola my friend Paul Shippey made. It was off to a client. I was so so so so so so extremely so so jealous

  24. Re: Planetary tuners or guitar style on tenor banjo?

I must admit i hate planetary tuners aesthetically speaking. i'd love a TG50 or ETG150 (both Gibson tenors) but only if they are somewhere around the 50s or 60s so i can avoid the planetary...
  25. Re: Quality of Harley Benton vs Eastwood/Revelation?

Hi, when i spoke to Eastwood over their tenors (of which i currently have two), they pointed out the Warren Ellis ones are made in S Korea, and other models (my classic) in China. The quality...
