  1. Re: YouTube policy change, ‘Made for Kids’

This is taken from Martin's link above and seems pretty clear to me.

When you make a video you make it with intent and you know who your video is intended for or you wouldn't be doing it. If...
  2. Re: YouTube policy change, ‘Made for Kids’

Maybe this will help explain things. Here are 2 videos from my channel. Both are animated. One is specifically intended for an adult audience while the other is specifically intended for kids. See if...
  3. Re: YouTube policy change, ‘Made for Kids’

FWIK this issue came to a head because YT wasn't monitoring who was viewing what and ads etc. that were inappropriate were being shown to kids and some peeps were taking users (kids) info without...

    Re: Thank You, Collings

    That's great to hear.

My son bought a Godin guitar which developed a problem - the truss-rod broke out the back of the neck at the headstock! After sending it to Godin for inspection they sent it...

Re: Nut Slots Cut Too Low

If it's just buzzing on the fret closest to the nut, try filing the fret first. Otherwise pop the nut, slip a piece of index card underneath, reinstall and re-cut the nut slots.

Re: Fender Tenor Tele - First Impressions

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts Baron. Here's a few comments I hope will be helpful.

60-cycle hum - welcome to telecasters. You can either get used to it or take some measures...

Re: Fender Tele Tenor at NAMM

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNgGS1bvOlc

It's worth watching. For what Fender is going after I think they pretty much nailed it. The pickups do sound great if you're into that whole...

Re: Alternate Reality Fender Tenor Tele

If this comes [straight from Fender to customer] with a crappy setup then everyone has a right to gripe at Fender's poor QC.
  10. Re: YouTube policy change, ‘Made for Kids’

And herein lies the fundamental problem with "social media."

To put this in perspective (I've run ad agencies and edited publications in the old days) "media" (i.e. publications, radio, TV) sell...
  11. Re: YouTube policy change, ‘Made for Kids’

It's not that big a deal as the vast majority of content won't fall into the kid's category.

If the show is something like "Sesame Street" that will be playing in a daycare facility with...

Re: Fender Tele Tenor at NAMM

As per industry "norms" the factory assembles the bits and it's up to the reseller to do the setup. Epiphone has picked up their game and pleck many of their instruments at the factory but that's the...

Re: Fender Tele Tenor at NAMM

Even thought we players are the end customers of Fender products, they don't sell to us. All the big companies sell through distributors to resellers - those are the people they communicate with and...

Re: Fender Tele Tenor at NAMM

Production problems happen especially with something new. Fender has never done a tenor (not that it's rocket-science) so give them some time to work it out. I've not seen them fail to deliver on a...

Seattle? I've been in there a few times. Nice folks as I recall with a propensity toward the unusual when it comes to gear.

Re: Any Baritone guitar players here?

I was introduced to baritones by Paul Chandler at a NAMM show. I had just bought a Danelectro double-neck and Allparts had a Danelectro baritone neck they sold me at the end of the show. I turned my...

  19. Re: Getting started with tenor, looking at an electric tenor

You're right in that a descent acoustic is very expensive and there are not many builders of either electric or acoustic.

The quickest way to a tenor is to buy a capo and restring/tune a 6-string...
  20. Re: Rough and ready ... quick and dirty, electric conversion.

I'm liking the way you've modded the body.
  21. Re: Rough and ready ... quick and dirty, electric conversion.

I think this is a brilliant way to get a tenor scale on the quick. Well done!

    Re: New Tenor guitar

On an acoustic instrument bridge placement is functional whereas on a solid body it is aesthetic. I prefer 2 pickups so lots of room between neck heel and bridge works best.

    String spacing is...
