  1. Re: Does anyone like the new green blue chip picks?

I hope the chocolate-flavored version is a different shade of brown from the original blue chip. It would be a rude first bite!
  2. Re: Does anyone like the new green blue chip picks?

At first, I found them a bit bland. But with a dash of salt, or even some tabasco, the tone on your tongue picks right up. My son uses them with some cumin, but I find that a bit too exotic....

Re: Gigs Cancelled - Health and Safety

Our bluegrass band - Pejepscot Station - was set to play an iconic event marking Maine's Bicentennial - a Baked Bean "Suppah" this Saturday at Bowdoin College in Brunswick. 500 tickets sold in...
  5. Re: If you always wanted one of those sunfish style mandolins

There are some that might take exception to the belief that the crawlers taste better a few miles to the north!

'course, as a confirmed vegetarian, I have no dogfish in this fight!

  7. Re: This weeks mandolin that won't get a bid or buyer

    Mick - you're close.
I believe it is a "Smeagol," wrought in the forges of the Dark Tower to annoy elven ears. And to confuse mandolinists in search of the elusive "Devastator."

    It was wrought...

I've had the same experience with my local Post Office as Allen has with his. FedEx? Not so much. UPS? They leave things hanging on the telephone poles on our private road if they don't want to take...

  12. Re: Sirius Radio Replaced Bluegrass station 62 with 24/7 Dolly Pa

Besides the thumb drive approach - with which I heartily agree - there is always the streaming app for Bluegrass Country. I listen to it frequently in the car. Varied selections and Brad Kolodner's...

Re: Opinion on nickel vs. gold aesthetics

Old electric guitars with what used to be gold hardware ruined me on the look forever...nickel may get "old" looking, but it doesn't look tired or "bad" as it starts to wear.

    Re: Heiden vs Northfield GOM

    Hi Brick.
I have both a Collings MF and a Northfield Big Mon. I find they have different voices, and appreciate each. The MF seems drier and cuts great in a jam. In fact, I'm often told it is...

Re: A model case for old Gibson

If you can find one, the Eastman Fiberglass cases work well. The Bobelock fiberglass cases are nicer, and the "A" fits in it equally well.

Re: Big Family: The Story of Bluegrass Music

Was well made. Learned a lot, and enjoyed the music. Who knew Japan has a thriving bluegrass community?
You can stream it from PBS if it isn't scheduled on your local station.
