Yes pics would help. see what I can do.
I have an opportunity to buy a Gibson tenor. I think its mahogany. 60's supposedly with the usual nicks and scrapes for $595. I think I would change/replace the tuners and play with the bridge. ...
And the grass is always greener.....
I stopped at the Fiddlers Green in Austin and could have spent the week there. Good Stuff.
Good stuff, Thanks.
Anyone know of any decent 2010 mandolin calendars? Seems like there should be lots. Let me know.:mandosmiley:
Anything happenning in Orlando around the 2/7 weekend, musically that is that does not involve a mouse or other wacky characters. Thanks:mandosmiley:
Anyone know of a decent calender w/mandolin pics available.
Or something close. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
Any suggestions where one might find some Band in a Box type files on the internet.
Oh okay got a bunch. Any particular ones anyone would recommend.
Am going to San Francisco after holidays and would like to visit a decent music store and maybe even a concert. Anyone have the inside scoop? Thanks...
Tenor with a resonator sounds like fun. Now it is an official quest. I guess if I can transfer fingering etc from one instrument to another and get a new experience and sound it could be worth a try....
Does anyone have and play a tenor guitar? Why would someone play a TG instead of a guitar or mandolin or zouk for that matter? Am going to play one but of course I need to check with the experts....
I have checked Youtube. There are quite a few short videos. I was looking for something a little more comprehensive.
It is a shame the IBMA s are not broadcast, as far as I know. Is there anything out there for viewing? Let me know. Thanks
I did not read all the responses but the first thing I thought when I saw your note on the classifieds was " why not charge" like a nominal sum like a Thrifty Nickel. Nothing wrong with that. Make...
True true. I can do without the F Style and I love the Flatiron. But I also kind of like a small guitar shape or tulip shape from a builder in the Northwest. Sorry for the lack of details but that...
Wow, thank you all I am definitely going to try it out. Roger ...maybe I will see you in Los Alamos Fri.
Guru Jai
I have a little Flatiron. It ain't purty but I like it.
Have been thinking about stringing my mandola like a 12 string guitar. With an octave higher string at the two low strings.
I am sure some one has tried it. How did it work for you and what gauge...
I went from a Flatiron Festival to just a Collings MT or MT2 and that was a considerable upgrade. When I get another F Style it will be the Collings. I hear there is a wait for them new. True or...
How much did you pay if you don't mind me being a little gauche. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Yup. I picked up a Flatiron and now have a whole new landscape of possibilities. I play some Indian rag type things and the mandola is better suited for that, more of an ethnic sound.
Is there any...
oooo thats nice.
Thanks again http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
Wow, perfect. I don't know if I can work it into our bluegrass jam but it will keep me busy. I want to move it to D and do a medley with Hop a Fence, Wind that Shakes the Barley and some others.
...
Thanks you all. I did a search on Mandozine that turned up nothing. I will try again. Found something on Google that may work but was basic basic. Jazzier is Good. Thanks
Would like the chords, not necessarily the tab for Take....
I checked Mandozine I swear. Anyone? Any key will do.
Tanks.
