  1. Re: Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway w/ Jerry Douglas live at Delfes

It's a fantastic record. I picked up a signed vinyl copy for my wife's birthday and we listened all the way through yesterday. Great stuff regardless of the status of her hair or eye lashes.
  2. Re: Mandolin stand food multiple mandolins

I'm very interested, but only have 2 mandolins and then the guitar-sized stuff (guitar, octave, mandocello). I sent a message to see if they could make something that might accommodate both.

Re: Guitar flight case in overhead?

If you google for the bin sizes for your specific plane you can usually find the dims.
However, be sure it is the exact name. Depending on what comes after the "737-" they may be somewhat different....

    Re: Mandocello C string buzz

I have a Gold Tone and only get it to buzz if I am really hammering on it, seems fine in normal playing. Have not tried changing strings from what came on it though.
  7. Re: Elixir Official Notice Mandolin strings discontinued

I'm seeing similar issues at my job on a daily basis. Suppliers are cutting the fat on low volume products in order to focus their efforts on high volume/profit products. Any custom low volume parts...

    Re: Mandolin String Grommets

Wow. I guess Mike Marshall's Loar is a piece of junk because he mutes them at the tailpiece AND the headstock. But what does he know.
  9. Re: We're starting a festival! Come join us!!

That's exciting Lucy! You have a great lineup there.
Boonie Bevins and her family group are all friends of mine, fantastic. I'm sure it will be a great time!

    Re: NMD: Northfield F5S Amber

I also changed from the phosphor bronze strings it shipped with to some D'addario monels, so there was a little bit of difference in tone but I would attribute that more to the strings. In the past,...

    Re: NMD: Northfield F5S Amber

    Thanks everyone!

Reporting back after the jam, it was about as I expected. PLENTY of woof on the chop, but a little harder to cut through all the guitar bangers on leads. Overall though, I think...

    Re: NMD: Northfield F5S Amber

I got the tailpiece changed out and added an armrest and Tone Gard. Put on some D'addario monels that I had lying around and they sound pretty good so far.
I did play this one with a 3 piece group...

Congrats Eric! Interesting about the label. Maybe this was some kind of one-off prototype. The important part is that it sounds like it found a good home, congrats!
