Good choice! Enjoy. I love my Eastman.
  3. Re: mandolin orange-Unknown Legend (Neil Young cover)....WOW

Thanks for sharing the "Cowgirl in the Sand" video too. I loved the steel guitar solo, but felt a little drunk after trying to keep up with the camera movements.

They do a good version of that...
  4. Re: mandolin orange-Unknown Legend (Neil Young cover)....WOW

Very nice! Thanks for posting that. I consider Neil Young to be one of the best songwriters of the Rock era. Mandolin Orange do a great job with this tune.

    Re: Loar lm-520 New mandolin

I found the MD-615 to have a warmer, clear tone that I liked. I also preferred the feel of playing it better than the Loar. The Loar was good, but the Eastman was a definite step up.

    Re: Loar lm-520 New mandolin

I had a LM-520 for a couple of years and enjoyed it; however, I did sell it for $450 when I bought my Eastman 615md.

    Re: Can you teach musicality?

I have had to teach "musicality" to students. Often, a new student can learn the proper notes to play, but it ends up sounding what I call "robotical". I will play it back "robotically" and then I...

Re: Reverb announces increase in fees

5% seems reasonable for what the format offers versus alternatives. I have bought and sold on Reverb without complaint.

Re: Looking to upgrade from first, but Eastman?

I upgraded three years ago from a beginner level instrument to an Eastman 615 F-Style and I am very glad I did. I tried several in that price range with the assistance of the fine folks at Pickers...
  18. Re: Losing My Religion (cover) - Collings MT2V

One of my favorite tunes. I have played it on guitar for many years and just recently have been playing it on the mandolin...it is infectious to play.

Re: How much do you practice?

Looks like a lot of folks say an hour a day and I fall into that category as well. I do different things every other day or so to break things up and learn different songs and styles.
