Hi Stew. No allen wrench as I recall. Did you build the Saga emando or acoustic?
Hmmm, I'll check that. Conceivably, adjusting the pickup height could fix/modulate it? Thanks.
Thanks. Actually, it's "semi-gloss", meaning I didn't have the patience to get all the orange peel out! The peghead is pretty glossy. For the bridge, I had a local luthier do a set up/fret dress...
Hi all, finally finished spraying and assembling the Saga kit. Love it so far!

Hi Andrew, I'm still finishing my Saga kit emando, but before I started spraying it I played a gig with my 80GX and had no problems. FWIW, I regularly play acoustic mando (w/ JJB transducers), lap...
The Saga kit comes with a pinned floating-style bridge. I retrofitted the tele-syle bridge (tune o matic bridges are common on Les Pauls). The neck pocket appears to be parallel with the top. Thanks.
Thanks Bart. I did look at Moongazer, but their bridge height was .5" also, so I went with the Allparts bridge (cheaper). It's installed now and I was able to crank the height up enough to make it...
Bridge arrived and finally mounted. Good news is that the vendor's height specs were a little low and I was able to set the mando up and play it (see photos). It really sings for an unplugged emando....
Thanks Stew. Yep, that's the one I've ordered. I figure I can sneak the ground wire out from under the pickguard, as the bridge will be practically touching it.
Sorry for the confusion guys. The bridge I have (that came with the kit) is in the wrong place. I know I can move it, but it's not a "floating" bridge, it comes with fixed bridge posts that allow for...
Thanks, Stew!
Len, thanks. Yeah, I'm ok with the string thru, and I will have more freedom to experiment with different strings without worrying about messing up the intonation.
Mr. Stew, was the bridge high enough without modification? How long ago did you get the kit and how did you like it?
Keith, yeah I set the whole mandolin up to make sure the parts were there and fit, etc. The lowest I could get the action was with 0.6" of bridge height. The Allparts bridge (same one you linked) is...
David, yep that's the one. The bridge "posts" are just small diameter all-thread with knurled wheels for height adjustment of the saddle which sits on the posts.
Thanks Brian. I agree with you about the shimming so will probably slice off 3/16" o a bandsaw. The neck at the attachment point is almost 1" thick not counting the fretboard, so i think I'm good...
Hi David. Yes, that is this situation. To hassle w/ return shipping over a $155 kit doesn't seem worthwhile to me, plus there is no guarantee that the replacement would be any better. Any thoughts on...
Hi all. Anyone have experience with the Saga electric mandolin kits? I purchased one recently and the bridge is just a tad too far off to be intonated properly. I know I could fill and re-drill the...
