I have tried different BCs, BC 40, TAD-40, TAD-50, TAD-1R60, but the CT-55 is my absolute favor, which I use on all my mandolins except the Ferrarotti Bowlback.
Unfortunately did not find any evidence about F4, but a picture showing Bill with an A-style mandolin!

Possibly this may be of help, too.
There is also another book by John T. La Barbera, "Traditional Southern Italian Mandolin & Fiddle tunes" at Mel Bay, in standard notation and tab, accompanied with CD. Great source for this kind of...
Another point, the neck of "The Loar" is relative chunky while Eastmanīs neck is much slimmer. Personal preference.
Thanks for your clear statement.
I was confused by Eastman, specifying J74s with the DGM2 and DGM3.
On the Eastman Homepage their DGM2 and DGM3 are named as mandolins, neck length is the same as with the MD305 (6 15/16) and although the scale length is 15 9/16 with the DGM3 they are all stringed...
Each of my mandolins has an individual neck shape, from small V to chunky D. After a few minutes playing I donīt have any problem to switch from one to another.
I agree to the above. My italian Ferrarotti Bowlback is stringed with Fisoma Consort an I love this typical "Italian" sound.
Thanks for attending my question. It seems to me now that there is no strict rule at eastman regarding the underside used with the MD 305.
Recently I found in a music shop an Eastman MD 305, the entry level model of Eastman.
Surprisingly, it had a very nice one-piece-back.
I always thought that one-piece backing is mostly reserved...
+1 for cleartune. However it is so high sensibel that it can be used only at quiet enviroment. (i.e.at home, or in a silent corner)
I found very helpful "Roots and Blues Mandolin" by Steve James, Paperback with notation and TAB and included access to audio downloads.
Another alternative would be Mel Bayīs School of Mandolin -...
True or not - thanks Heaven - very proud to own A #208-10 :)
Werner, I suggest to talk with Oliver about that specific instrument. He is a honest guy which itīs nice to talk with and I can recommend his company New Acoustic Gallery due to own very good...

"The serial number is A10071432...when was it built?"
@Timmando: Got mine in March 2011, SN A10071463 - guess they were built July 2010.
I just read in another forum:
quote - grrr tough winter for my baroque guitar, a nasty split on the table of at least 5-6 cm - unquote
and more explaining:

There should already be a valid reason to terminate a binding order.
I donīt know the law in the United States. However, a contract also may come about by conclusive behavior. The deposit could...
A big thanks to Rob who so magnificent shares his experiences with us.
posts have crossed over...
Iīve tried the TAD 40 and TAD 50, but finally my personal favorite is the CT55.
This is a matter of opinion.
