I was wondering what everybody thought of playing soul on the mandolin? Does that genre of music fit with mandolin play? I must specify, I am talking about 60's soul music, Ben E. King (would love to...
Wondering if anybody could help out on this lick. I have it halfway worked out by just messing around but can't quite seem to get it down. Thanks all.
So, it would seem that the short answer is no. I'm talking about an actual mandolin, not an octave. And the problem seems to be the length of the neck isn't 14 inches on mini guitars but around 19-22...
Is there an "easy" way to convert an electric guitar or better yet, a mini electric guitar to an electric mandolin? It isn't as simple as changing the length of the fretboard, rearranging the holes...
Jimmy did a rendition of Southern Cross and Brown Eyed Girl, both recordings are pretty popular and good slants on the song. Come Monday would be another cool one to play, fairly well known.
I just got a Fender Mustang II. It's the mid-level modeling amp. You can have multiple setups, the combinations are endless. Set it up a few presets for your emando and a few for a guitar. I...
Personally I love the simple riff in Sunshine of Your Love by Cream. It's one that everybody instantly knows and enjoys. What is everybody's favorite?
Not sure how many of you have heard this song but I enjoy the heck out of it. It's on Jimmy Buffett's Havana Daydreamin' album. Just beautiful.
Wondering if the Boulder Alpine would fit an eastwood mandocaster electric mando? Not sure of the dimensions on the bag....
I'm looking to spend around $50 give or take a little for a hard case or gig bag for my mandocaster. Does anybody know one that would fit? Leaning more towards a quality gig bag.
Sorry I didn't specify. I was thinking that messing around with the riff would be cool. Not sure if there was an easy way to convert the riff from guitar to mando. Thanks for everybody's input.
Anybody played Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison? Looking for the riff. Be fun to jam out to seeing as everybody immediately knows it. Thanks guys.
So, is it just the C pentatonic scale transitioned into the D pentatonic? Right now, I am more interested in getting the basic sound down without any improve. That is the part that is giving me fits...
I would like to get My Girl by the Temptations down for obvious reasons (I think). I just can't quite seem to make it sound right. Any help would be appreciated.
I am interested in finding tablature for this song. There was an old post from 2005 that I ran into on here but most of the websites that were cited on it are not around anymore. Any help would be...
The link below is to the above mentioned song. Sounds like some mando in the back to me. Any help?

I recently purchased a mandolin-banjo. I am looking to get it into playable condition.
It needs new tuning gears, a new top nut, and a new bridge as well as to be strung and such. I was wondering...

This clip has some guys rocking out to King Harvest's Dancing in the Moonlight. Beautiful.
There is some mando and I was wondering if anybody could help me pick it out or had any tabs for it. Love the song and would love even more if I could play it.
