It will find you if you are worthy.
Or keep an eye on the local Craigslist.
You weren't supposed to share that...
Agreed. Have two of them I use on stage. Instruments are solidly supported. Have K&Ks I use around the house - but still worry about stability or knocks with those. Not the Hercules.
The ToneGuard still fits...have a toneguard on my Big Mon as well.
Hi folks.
To everyone who replied to my question - thanks for the answers and encouragement!

Flying this weekend would like to take a mandolin with me. Has anyone recently used a Northfield recurve case in an overhead compartment? Does it fit?
Does anyone have recent experience using...
Thanks Daryl!
Agree with the group. Tone Guards stay on. I use both Bobelock and Recurve cases. No prob. Like anything, carefully and gently does it - especially when it comes to a musical instrument.
Carefully placing the instrument (wearing its Toneguard) into the case and gently pushing it down has worked just fine when I use the Recurve. When do I use the Recurve? When I need to travel light....
A 2019 Big Mon with a "special Engelmann Spruce" top and figured maple body, and a 2009 Arches Flat Top Oval Hole "A." I regret selling it, but I know it went to a good home in New Zealand...
Allstate and separate riders. Cover whether in the house or out playing with the band, damaged or stolen. Worth the piece of mind.
Those are workhorses with great sound. Well worth bringing back to life.
I have a 2019 Big Mon. One of the things I most enjoyed about it for a long time after its purchase was how stable the tuning stayed during a gig. It seemed with a reasonably new set of strings,...
Coffee and mandolins. Two best vices I can think of...
One more observation about the device. I thought I had completely unpacked it last week. Yesterday, about 30 minutes into the set, the display screen on the Polytune3 started bubbling. My initial...
Update on the Polytune3. The band played yesterday late afternoon at a craft fair in central Maine. Hotter than blazes, the sun just radiating into the semi-enclosed bandstand we played in...
Charlie - XLR to 1/4" adapter plugs are pretty inexpensive and easy to come by. That would solve your XLR to pedal in issue...
I have a Fire Eye Red Eye Twin preamp that I use - one input for a mandolin and one input for a guitar. I have been using the effects in and out for a Polytone 3 tuner...works fine. From the Fire...
Playing the Devastator card? Josh, you just upped the ante.
Took Brad, Rob, and Kevin's advice. Bought a Polytune3. Marvelous bright, easy to connect to my Red-Eye Twin. Works well with both my D28 and the two mandos with K&Ks in them. Thanks for the advice...
Maybe Southwest is different, but I've flown a lot this year for work on other airlines (masked) and have marveled at the "fighting" and juggling that goes on to find overhead bin space. Even first...
I'm using a Fire Eye Red-Eye Twin preamp when the band plays out with sound. Would like to add a tuner pedal to the chain. Been running into a challenge with seeing the clip-on tuner when playing...

Hey Mary!
For some reason, I went back and read this thread again. After reading your note about the "special Engelmann," I was curious about what my June 2019 Big Mon was topped with. Pulled the...
