    Re: Hearing loss (NMC)

I have had hearing aids for almost 20 years, and each time (every 4 years) they need more and more "boost". They help me a lot, and I think I have had better luck with them than Poul Hansen. It...

Re: Gordon Lightfoot (no mandolin content)

Black Day in July, remember it well, my college room mate that summer was from Detroit. It probably doesn't mean so much to younger generations, but a powerful song.

    Re: Blind Mandolin Players ?

Rod Moag recently died in Texas. I saw him playing mandolin with the Bluegrass Hoppers in Madison Wi in the mid 60's. He had a long time career as professor/musician.

Re: Learning to play with one less finger

Two of the best players I know here never use their little finger, so you should be ok. And of course there was Django Reinhardt with only two. I you want to bad enough, you'll make it work.:)

    Re: Fiddle Tunes with History?

According to Wikipedia, the tune has been played in Scotland for over 200 years, and they name a reference in the US from 1760, so it is apparently older than the US Civil War. I have heard...

I have a Zoom H4 and it works very well, is versatile and easy to use. I'm sure either that or a Tascam would be fine.
