While I trust that it wouldn't fix the problem, why would it make the scratch look awful? Of course it may not fit the coloration perfectly, but surely a dark colored scratch would look better than a...

What do you think would be the result of attempting to fill the scratch with a wood filler pencil? Even if it doesn't match perfectly, it seems darkening the scratch would at least make it less...
