Re: New to the forum and a question

Mandozine is really a great way to use tabs/Tabledit. Fine resource. I just made a donation in hopes that they can remain functional.

Been using Mandozine to learn new(to me) tunes a lot lately....

    Re: Roadie-2 Tuner and Winder

dulcillini,I can relate to the old and arthritic thing. I need three hands and an extra thumb to change strings.

It helps me to hold the mandolin between my knees with cleaning cloth, cutters,...

Re: Keep Rigel or learn on different instrument?

It's not that a thick/wide neck is not playable for some(like me);but,it really does hold me back from any kind of enjoyment on the mandolin.

Had a Nugget with a thick neck. Sounded great but I...

    Re: Roadie-2 Tuner and Winder

    A tuner and a winder!?

All it needs is a pick,a wire cutter, and a polishing cloth.

    Then I might consider it.

Re: Changed back to nickel-silver frets

Excellent set-ups and fretwork are a wonderful thing.

I've never even played a Mando with EVO or SS.

Will be needing a couple mandolins...

Still waiting for my D'Addario Thile pick from Sweetwater.

Anybody else get one recently. Like in the last month or so?
  8. Re: Land's End. Tim O'Brien cover with free notation

Been playing this tune for years. I guess I always thought Tim O' wrote it. Wrong!

But from listening to the more traditional playing of it(more like a jig?), it sounds like two completely...

    Re: D'Addario Monel sets

Currently have the Mangan Monel custom mediums on my Derrington F5. My favorite strings on that Mando.
Those strings and a full-contact bridge are a good combo on it.

    For me, Mangan and D'Addario...

    Re: Kimble two point reviews?

I have been fortunate enough to have played several Kimble mandolins. A's and F-styles.I wanted to buy each one. Alas, pecuniary obstacles could not be overcome.

    Re: Well this isnít good..

I had the bridge-feet indentations on my F5. Got full-contact bridge. End of problem; and, helped my plains sing better.

I think John Reischman had the same thing with his Loar.

    Nothing to...

  15. Re: D'Addario's new Chris Thile signature mandolin pick

I know it's just another casein pick. Probably not any better than a Primetone.

    Still want one.

Looking forward to not liking it.

Re: Article: The Charlie Derrington Interview

  18. Re: D'Addario's new Chris Thile signature mandolin pick

    Re: New Frets!

I agree with tree. Can't appreciate it if ya don't use it.

Makes me really want to play a Hamlett with skinnier frets at the dusty end.

Heck I'd like to play any Hamlett mandolin.
