I wasn't trying to complicate the sampler with insurance on it, just didn't want to leave something not covered if that was being done on the previous sampler.
I forgot about the receipts part, that would be tricky to keep them all in order
Insurance has to do with the value of the picks not the weight, one blue chip pick at $40 plus the value of the ones added to could add up, but if no insurance needed I'm ok with that long as I'm not...
What is the best shipping method, and were you insuring them for a certain amount, what was the average cost of shipping once the sampler became bigger?
I used Liquid Bandage when I first started, helped quite a bit......got it at Walgreens.
Howdy Chris, I have 2 Blue Chip picks, how do you compare the Wegen pick to them......I might do the same and buy one and give up on the sampler coming my way.
What's the cost of sending the sampler package? Maybe hossamassey needs a hand with some extra cash.
pops1, did you ever make it up to play this mandolin? they still have it....thanks
I knew I wouldn't be able to pick out the mandolins due to never being even close to any of that quality, but I decided to rate them in how they sounded to me......my favorite was The Flatiron, then...
If there isn't enough advice out there by now there never will be......it's time to say yay or nay on the $10,000 mandolin....if it's yay go try it and if it works for you buy it.....if it's nay, go...
So John, how did the try out go?
If it had a "Make An Offer" option I'd go for putting that F style together and finishing it.
Me too.....thanks!
That sounds like a great choice, you'll have to let me know what you think of your M-11 once you get it and have had time to play it. I was trying to find a used M-11 before I bought my Mini Mo, but...
Clarinda is a kind, great person to deal with. I had purchased a couple of nice the Loar mandolins from her but had to sell them due to financial troubles at the time. I called her to see if she had...
Hey Chris......I bought a Mini Mo from Mike about a month ago, that was the model I could afford at the time. Each day it sounds a little better than the day before. I think it will be a great...
I would like to be added to the list, thanks!
Here is an updated list:
Gandalfa (on its way!!!)
Sweetpea44
jhowell
Sevelos
hossamassey
Kback
Today I was able to determine when I had available to take a lesson and scheduled my first mandolin lesson with Bobby Westfall in Madison, WI.
He suggested a 1/2 lesson to see how I like it and...
Thanks for all the helpful replies, I really appreciate it. Mandolin really is my main focus, so if I can work out the time I will go to the mandolin teacher.
I really want to take lessons...
Howdy,
I've been playin' (kinda :-) for almost 2 years now. Folks who have heard me play over this time have said how much I have improved since the beginning.
But I know there is so much more...
Besides Spruce Tree and Madison Music, there is also www.wardbrodt.com, they have a brand new Kentucky KM-675: was $999 - NOW $834.
Not sure about their set ups but that's a pretty good...
