    Re: New here, hello.

Cool. I've spent plenty of time in jozi, but I prefer Cape town (I learned to walk there as a baby) wish I could play it for the sound demo...

Re: Forgive me....for I have sinned.....

If it had four strings, no forgiveness necessary. If it had five, the mandolin world will never forgive you. If it had six, the banjo world will never forgive you

Re: Kentucky KM-505 vs Loar LM-600

I'd recommend the 505 as it'll be better for the same money. Unless you just have to have an F style. I'd also recommend if at all possible to play both

    Re: Old Ebenezer Scrooge format?

I had already heard that version, and still couldn't tell if it was part of the tune or just a variation. But looks like everyone agrees it's a four part. Can anyone point me towards a good video to...

    Old Ebenezer Scrooge format?

I've has this tune (old ebe scrooge) stuck in my head, and when that happens it comes out my fingers. So I've been playing it a bunch, and was wondering is it just aabb format? Most people who I've...

    Re: I started a blog!

Thanks! The homeschooling helps, as does the fact that I spend as much (or more) time around adults than kids

    Re: Pomeroy mandolins

If you're looking for something more inexpensive, Eastman is known to have rather smaller necks. I also play fiddle and prefer a smaller neck

    Re: Online percussive dance tutorials?

Well, Ranald, I was not specifically looking to add dance to my picking, but I did figure once I learned the dance it would be easier to put it together with my fiddling (and Hillary Klug was part of...

Thanks for posting that! It was very easy to follow, and I just might incorporate that into my fiddling. The only thing I failed to consider was that wearing shoes is kind of necessary for percussive...
