    I'm not sure there is a formula and to me some melodies do not fly so naturally, I do see a lot of playing the low courses up high with open strings in the mix.

    They played "Old Songs Festival" in Altamont NY, had to be 20 years ago, always loved that "Hills of Manchuria" and "Airmail Special".
    They referred to Bluegrass as "Peasant music"
