A blonde Phoenix? How about a blonde Unicorn that Rolfe made? Here is one....
A recent photo of me with my beloved Unicorn #14.
I tried to sell my Strad-o-lin on the classifieds here a couple of times, but it didn't sell. I decided to take the Strad to school. I have a couple of students who play guitar in my home room. I...
My thirteen year old son is a much better musician than I am. At first I was jealous, but now I'm just proud! He has found something he loves and is already very good at.
In his book/CD "Effortless Mastery" Kenny Werner discusses the use of meditation to play naturally. I've just started using the CD to do a short meditation before practicing and it REALLY helps! ...
Thanks for sharing Maria! I think I have a new project for my Art 2 students now :-)

We have a local musician who plays mandolin instead of ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. (He bought a Rogue just for his Salvation Army "gigs".) I always donate more when he is playing!
I second wildpikr's post. Just downloaded the music and am enjoying it right now! Thanks
No one has hit on "cute". "Oh your instrument is so cuuuUUUUuute! What is it?". Makes me want to scream!
(p.s. the term "creeper" is used by my high school students to mean someone who is not...
That is really beautiful! Love the price too! Glad you can enjoy your instrument even more now!
It's been six years and Fatt-dad doesn't look a day older!
A few new shots of my Unicorns, #14 and #105
Truly stunning in all aspects: front, back headstock=WOW! I'd love to hear one of your acoustics, but don't see it on your YouTube channel. Let us know when you have a new video uploaded!
A couple of years ago there was a long thread about college students who were going to build, then did build mandolins that were not traditionally shaped.... I'm sure someone can find the thread. ...
If you keep playing, and eventually form a band you already have a great band name... "Old Hickory and Hondo"! It's got a nice ring to it :-)
Sorry to hear about your arm Polly. I don't know how long it might be until you can play normally again. Listen to your Doctor or Physical Therapist.
Your name caught my eye... we named our...
Welcome from yet another Ohioan! Please let us know what part of the state your in... someone will want to jam!
John, thank you taking the time to document the entire process and share with us. This is incredible and very informative. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
I think part of the reason that I've purchased so many books and instructional material is that when I order it, I never know exactly if it's the right level for me. Some books I put away, but now...
[QUOTE=JEStanek;824514]"Double Rainbow! What does it mean?"
Jamie, not sure it has special meaning, but I was one happy photographer to capture this scene. I do live here.... well not in the...
Still on this side of the rainbow..... in Ohio
I agree with the $40-50 price range. I sent my Unicorn #14 from my home in Ohio to Rolfe Gerhardt in Maine for a re-fret and set up. Used UPS without any problem at all. In fact he returned it to...
Wow, that's a real beauty! I hope your ready to get some more playing time in now.
Well this thread has taken an interesting turn.... can we veer back to the original topic please? I feel Big Joe's five points are good advice for just about any realm of life.
