    Re: Gold Tone mandocello

It sounded decent. I would've liked to have plugged it in as well but wasnt able to at the time. Personally though, it would have to sound great unplugged for me to get one. Just can't get past that...

    New Eastman OM

At Namm yesterday Eastman Guitars had a brand new A model OM. F holes. Even with all the noise it sounded pretty good. They're weren't sure on the price point yet.

    Re: Gold Tone mandocello

Played the GT cello yesterday at Namm for just a bit. Just hit it acoustically.

Neck felt decent, was very quiet though. IMO don't think it would work very well just acoustic. Rep said they're...

    Re: Thomastik Mandocello Strings

I'm gonna check out some Thomastiks for my new Weber cello. Strung some D'addarios on it and not really thrilled by them.
I use Thomastiks flats on my archtop guitars and they really do sound...

    Re: Show your cboms!

This finally came last week. It may be one of the last Gallatin Cellos made from Weber. Maple back and sides. Plays great, looks great and it's just a kick. Not a super clear pic but you get the...

    Re: Weber mandocello on ebay

This cello is a great axe. I played it every day at NAMM this year and both Bruce & I agreed that it got better sounding the more it was played.

Re: Gold Tone mandocello -- thoughts?

Curious, has Goldtone ever made or thought of making an A model cello?

Re: The Weber Yellowstone Cutaway is here!

Bruce had a Bitterroot cutaway cello at Namm a few weeks ago that I got to play nearly every day of the show. It's a marvelous axe.

Also had a cutaway dola that played great as well.

Re: I'd sure like a resonator tenor guitar

Update: ended up getting a new Republic 49 tenor. Love it!

Use it mostly with some swing/dixie bands. Frank was great/easy to deal with.

Re: info on a Balalaika (sp)

I have had one for years. Hardly ever played it. But when I did use on a gig I tuned like the top 3 of my tenor banjo which I was mostly playing at the time. G D A

Re: How do I find Octave mandolin dealers?

Try posting a "wanted" on the site here. It was suggested to me to do this and I got several really nice replies with some folks who had some various OMs available

    Re: Goldtone OM-800+

I have been playing Dixieland tenor banjo for many years. I just got my very first OM Thursday. A Trini 325 and i love it. The fingering feels pretty natural having played so much tenor banjo. I have...
