    Re: Kimble two point reviews?

I played a Kimble 2 point at Monroe Camp that was monstrous. Huge chop, great tone everywhere. All the mandolin anyone would ever need.

    Re: Wintergrass 2020

Wow. Probably better not to book bands and then have to cancel, but that's a long ways out.

  4. Re: Stew mac -- waverly f-style mandolin tuners

When did Waverly change from the beautiful deep engraving to barely engraving a line in their tuners?

2006 Stanley--I don't know if the tuners are original but they have beautiful deep engraving....

    Re: Speed neck recommendation

I put several coats of Tru-Oil on the ones I've done. Let it dry good then polish with 1000 grit sandpaper and then 1500 grit sandpaper. You can also sand after putting several coats on, then put...

    Re: Strap Recommendation

Bill, what did Mike Marshall have to say in response to your God and Bill Monroe comment? (Aren't they the same person? :)) )

    Re: Strap Recommendation

FYI, the Longhollow Big Softy works for an A5, but when you put it on an F5, the wide soft part lands in the middle of your back instead of on your shoulder. As they say in software, it's not a bug,...
  8. Re: Mike Marshall's Virtual Mandolin Orchestra

People volunteered for different parts and Mike divided us up into sections. Only one mandobass! We all did videos (using whatever device we had) playing along with the notation/tab, audio...
  9. Mike Marshall's Virtual Mandolin Orchestra

Mike organized this with his ArtistWorks students. He wrote out parts and recorded guide tracks for us and then we all recorded our parts. Another student put the video all together. It was a fun...

    Re: Help with TEFView

You have something against oboes? If you want to send me the file, I'll see if I can reset it and save it if you can't.

    Re: Help with TEFView

I have the full TablEdit. Do you have a MIDI menu? In my MIDI menu, the last choice is Midi Options and you can choose what instrument you want to play back.

    Re: James Tailpiece Opinions

The only angle that could be different is the angle of the strings crossing the bridge. The James tailpiece requires a straight line for the strings from the tailpiece to the bridge, otherwise the...

Yes, it's been wonderful to get to hear and watch Mike play like this. Had my laptop out by the grill last night to tune in.

Re: Who's been watching Mike Compton?

Yes, I've been tuning in. He's also played a bunch of the Gallop to Georgia tunes from the CD he did with Norman Blake. A master for sure.
