    Make a fist,palm down,extend pinky straight out,now start moving the pinky around,up,down,back and forth,in and out etc. to gain independence ...very challenging to do with ring finger..

    I do wrist curls with a weight to strengthen my forearms,,I used to take a 2,3 or 5 lb. Lifting plate and hold it it in my right hand like a pick and start to fan it like tremelo,no mandolin in hand...

    Don't forget to use other "tools of expression" such as sliding in and out of notes,hammer on's and pull offs,glissandos,choking,vibrato,altered tremolo beats etc...once you start to utilize these on...

    I've heard the Sitar is hard to learn,I would think something like the Basoon isn't to easy either..playing a left handed strung guitar ,right handed is really hard,I've tried it ,,playing bluegrass...

    The L-7 is amazing,,,I have heard the Ren Ferguson master museum guitars actually sound and play better than they look..the guy who evaluated one on pawn stars said it was the finest sounding guitar...

    Those look like great mandolins,they don't come up for sale very often..I've always liked the Gibson A/N customs and wouldn't mind one myself.
