    Re: Gibson Mandolin Style A4

Yes here at the classifieds is the best place as evilbay and reverb charge state sales taxes as do dealers now! I've bought and sold and trade here on a regular basis and just make a donation to the...

    Re: No motivation

Most of us get into that funk! I went years without playing due to being death bed sick! No Joke man. Just go to a quiet place and see where that takes you-get your mind off all the BS and start to...
  3. Re: Help identifying the Gibson Mando in this YouTube performance

I just received a 1921 plain A in a swap deal with a very wide grain top-Sheraton brown and looks to be all original, neck looks great, no issues, original bridge is gone but I'll put a Loar style...
  4. Re: Dumb and petty complaint (Doyle Lawson F-5 content)

I wouldn't refinish it, then it'll be pretty much worthless except to you and if you wanted to sell, it would be very cheap? Just my opinion.
  5. Re: Dumb and petty complaint (Doyle Lawson F-5 content)

My all black 75th Anniversary F-10 just left me today to a new home so I'm getting something very interesting in the trade! Mmmmmmmmmmmm

    Re: This Gibson legit?

You want Blue you should see the ultra ugly 1924 Gibson Tenor Lute that I got cheap with a busted banjolin short scale neck-the top was at least original blonde but its already been sent to Gary...

    Re: This Gibson legit?

Yes Gibson did a small run of these! I have no interest in her as its not my thing but it could be KOOL for someone if it wasn't BLUE!

    Re: Damaged teens Gibson A3

What about this early Gibson A model? How much would this cost to reattach the peg head? It looks nice-all original finish-no cracks or seam separations that I see- but the headstock is mangled but...
  11. Re: Converting 8-stringed guitars to mando cellos

Check evilbay for old archtops that can be converted? Sometimes one can find pretty neat and rare stuff for reasonable prices! Some of those 30's archtops are great bang for the buck and peg heads...

    Re: Buy without trying

I live in a mando and guitar deprived area-no vintage shops at all unless I drive many hours to a shop so that's why I've bought they way I do, it is nice to hit a store if one can to sample many but...

    Re: Buy without trying

I've bought 100's of instruments without trying them first-a major majority I knew they'd be fine as I go for quality, If I did get stuff that wasn't great or arrived damaged-it went back or if I got...

    Re: any A5 conversion pics?

I did one late 30's Gibson A-50-a 37 once and while it turned out great I didn't compensate-rookie mistake so the bridge was about an inch above the F-holes-it still sounded great but my next one...
