Hello Bart,
The point of my asking the question is that as I admitted, MY ear can't hear the difference and I was wondering if BETTER ears than mine could. And I was wondering if there was any...
Wish I could say that I've learned to play after 4 years or so, but in all honesty .....
I finger-pick guitar well enough to teach, can handle a 5 string b***o and ukulele, but flat-pickin' pretty...
Thanks to all who've replied.
I have some ebony slivers around and once I get this little sucker properly settled-in, I'll experiment with shims as Bryce suggests.
Wait 'til I ask about full...
I have a Cumberland Acoustic bridge on my F Style. I ordered it with a full contact bottom and as close to the best height needed with the thumb-wheels fully closed. This simulated a one piece bridge...
Still whipin' the smile off my puss!
Problem?
I don't see any problem
I aspire to a collection that exquisite.
Show this to your better half.
Now show us your mandolins.
That little kit was my first build, too. Look at my avatar.
With decent strings on it and a proper set-up (intonation), they are actually a sweet sounding instrument.
The strings that come...
Tiny neck, tight fret spacing, sausage fingers = big mess for this guy.
Do I have a mandolin capo? Yup, a Shubb.
Do I use it? Yup. Every time I change strings. Really helps.
They way I judge...
[QUOTE=PseudoCelt;1039561]If the Zeroglide's zero fret is shaped like a normal fret, wouldn't the point at which the strings make contact be slightly further from the first fret than the original nut...
Just another thought - if the customer is a hard workin', hard travellin', hard ramblin' musician - maybe a hard case?
That was really tight!
Suggestion:
Ask Charlie Daniels there to be a little more animated if possible :)
Loved it!
Lighter grip and watch the angle of attack.
With a clean Blue Chip, Red Bear, V Pick, Ultex, Fender Heavy etc., if the pick stays stationary, it will warm and "stick" to your thumb and finger.

Music owes him a great deal.
I will miss him.
Welcome germano.
I must admit that it is very early in the day here in Canada, but I can't figure out what a TG is, unless you mean Tenor Guitar?
I have 3 on mandolins and had Tony make one for my baritone Ukulele.
Jstout,
Welcome! Congratulations!!
When it's time to change your strings, do a search or two on the Cafe here, or PM me for some little tricks that make it fun.
Now break that little beauty...
Glad you came aboard Snafu!
Happy pickin'
Yeah?
Well he was smart enough to use a zero fret!
And them "internated" frets took a lot of scientific study!
I'm gonna bid!
There may be a reserve price though, this guy probably knows...
And String Aquisition Syndrome.
I'd keep an eye on GAS.
It's an inclusive condition spanning straps, ToneGards, cases, tuners, capos, string dampers, peg winders, polishing cloths, pickups,...
Welcome Eric.
Third time's a charm.
I'm sure your shop will come through, as both the fret and the bridge problems are easily resolved.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.
That is something else I've done to my four mandolins and two arch-top guitars. I don't think my instruments (or ears) are of high enough quality to hear a difference, but from my years playing with...
Have a Happy Ted!
Great advice, products and service!
And one of the best picks out there!
Always knew you were all thumbs.
See you soon.
One heck of a good video though!
Ya know, Bear,
When I look at violins, violas and cellos - which can all produce a very wide range of balanced and loud sound, I think that the ff holes do what Dr. Dave describes and allow us to...
