    Re: RIP Billy Joe Shaver

He married and divorced the same woman 3 times. There's a song in there somewhere.

    RIP Billy Joe Shaver

One of the best songwriters ever. Old Chunk of Coal, Georgia on a Fast Train, a whole Waylon album: "Honky Tonk Heroes", I'm Gonna Live Forever, and so many more. A huge loss. Really sick of 2020.

Re: 3-Part Chris Thile Master Class online

Well, Alex, the thing that stuck out in my mind was that you have to start with glass-size ice cubes that you make with filtered water in a muffin pan or something similar in the freezer. Or a banana...

tmsweeney: I really like your playing and arrangement of Dry Grass in the High Fields. Cool blend of instruments and creative video too. Great tune that I need to learn.

Anyone else having trouble with buffering while watching the archived show? The live stream was a disaster and now the archive is not much better here. Contacted their tech support, but nothing other...

Re: "Accapella App" type video software?

You can do that in iMovie on the Mac. Not sure about iOS. Here's one I did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2Y3gsr0ZZQ Larry sent me a video leaving a place for me to play. I played along to his...

    Re: Fret Size

Whatever size of EVO Michael Heiden used on my A5 is perfect. It's not the tiny stuff.

    Re: Dudenbostel

Generally not a fan of blonde mandos, but that back! Spectacular. Everything looks right on that one. I bet someone at Carters will make you a video or sound clip.

Re: Discovering the fun of GDGD tuning

Skip Gorman's "Mandolin in the Cow Camp" features several tunes in alternate tunings. Very inspiring CD from Skip--I think I got my version of Sandy River Belle from that CD.

    Noodling is quite fun...

Re: Discovering the fun of GDGD tuning

I got obsessed with crosstuning for awhile. I liked GDGD better than AEAE. Sounds like you have a good tune list going. Check out Mike Compton playing Jenny Lynn to hear how much fun crosstuning can...

Sounds great, Russ. I really like his violin-style mandolins--the headstock scroll is a bonus. Enjoy!

Another very happy Unitune user. I find its strobe mode very accurate and easier to use than the Peterson.

    Re: NMD Pomeroy Oval

Thanks for your comments. Cary, Don said it has J74 or EJ74 strings on it. I'll be changing those to my favorite Curt Mangan phosphor bronze strings when they start to go dead.

    This is model PA-2B...

Well I didn't do the tune or the mandolin justice but here's a Norman Blake tune for you on Pomeroy #264. Glad to hear from other Pomeroy owners!
