    Re: Tone-gard & tonyp

Got a Tone-gard for my Eastman octave. Fits like a glove, helps to balance the instrument, and of course, helps make it sound its best when the back is being stifled by my beer belly!

    Re: Eastman Octave MDO-305

Not sure which McClung model it is, but I took it off one of my mandolins and it fits the octave just fine.

Just ordered a couple of these. One PG and one LG. Can't wait to compare them to my BCs and my dozens other picks! Still way cheaper than buying new mandolins...

    Re: Danilo Brito

Just finished reading the chapter in Graham's book on bandolims and I want one so bad! I remember this Tiny Desk. One of my all-time favorites.

    Re: Minneapolis March

This video did not help rid me of my irrational desire to found a mandolin orchestra in my city. Quite the contrary! Great work, thanks for posting.

Another great reason for purchasing a Flatiron pancake! You should upload a photo to this thread: https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/threads/3496-Compulsive-purchase-Flatiron-1N

Re: Restringing a TC Octave Mando

The tailpiece cover on my TC octave was very difficult to remove. In the video I posted above a coin is used, but you can also use a cloth or something that allows you to apply pressure to both sides...

    Re: Blue chip picks

Just got my TAD 40 in the mail. I think I had one of these years ago and did not like how bright the sound was, but I am loving it now as a complement to my CT 55 and my TAD 60 with no bevel.

    I...
